Our Wedding

Despite meteorological assurances of catastrophic thunderstorms, a flurry of last-minute hopes and prayers brought warm and humid but otherwise perfect weather to the City of New Orleans on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, 2008.

The French Quarter remained slightly damp from the storms of the prior evening as the groom and the groomsmen hurriedly made their way through the heat from the elder Grandt's room at the Omni Royal Orleans hotel to the beautiful and majestic St. Louis Cathedral two blocks away. As guests began to arrive, the groomsmen struggled to soak in the air conditioning in the sanctuary behind the alter of the cathedral.

A bit of nerves and confusion set in as the announcement was made to the Father, groom, and groomsmen that the wedding had begun. The bridal party made their way down the aisle as the groom and best man took their place at the alter, awaiting the ceremony to come.

Pachelbel's "Canon in D" began to play as the ushers opened the center door of the cathedral to reveal the most beautiful bride in the history of wedding days; and then she started down the aisle to meet her groom, who fought back tears of joy as he watched her approach.

A gorgeous mass, an exchange of vows, a lighting of the unity candle, and a visit to the Virgin Mary to share their first married prayer together were to follow. And so it was that on Friday May 23rd, 2008 at the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, LA, Laura & Matthew Grandt were each married to their best friend.

We would like to extend a most sincere and heart-felt "Thank You" to all who were able to attend and celebrate our wedding day with us. Our special day was blessed by the presence of each and every one of you: our family and friends.

We hope you all enjoyed the ceremony, the second line parade, and the reception and that all of you were able to make the most of your visit and to thoroughly enjoy our favorite place in the world: New Orleans.

We have added many photos from our photographer, from our trip and honeymoon, as well as from family and friends.

We would love to see and to include photos from everyone that was able to attend so if you have any photos that you would like to share, please email them to us.

Professional prints may also be purchased from our photographer.

Once again, we'd like to thank every last one of you for making our wedding day so special.
